A European mount makes a stylish addition to a trophy room, and they’re a lot cheaper than taxidermy. You can make your own European mount at home, and it’s not as difficult as you might think.

How long does it take to do a European mount?
Actual time to complete a euro with boiling is a few days. Beetles is 1-2 weeks. Maceration (the method I use at home) is 4-6 weeks depending on grease levels. If I was paying a taxidermist I wouldn’t wait longer then 2 months to receive a euro.
What to use to whiten a European mount?
You can buy powders that you mix with water and brush onto the skull. They don’t do much other than coat the skull with white powder and do a poor job of actually whitening the bone. Hydrogen peroxide is the way to go.
