Chairman’s message

Dear visitors,

Welcome on the ASEP website, the Alliance for the “Societas Europaea” Promotion!

Today, Europe needs to develop a new strategy regarding growth, innovation and employment. In order to make European business more dynamic, European countries clearly need to work together in tackling economic, budgetary and tax-related issues.

There is a need for a strong and fast convergence of their economic and social strategies. That is why I called for the creation of the ASEP which is meant for existing or future European companies wishing for a better harmonisation of Europe’s economic, social and tax policies

The ASEP’s first aim is to promote the statute of SE. More broadly, the ASEP intends to foster debates and discussions with its members and to reach a consensus on topics related to common interests in order to present them to European institutions and Member States (Field of action).

In these times of mistrust towards the European project, corporate leaders must take their responsibility and participate in this effort through concrete initiatives that show their commitment in favour of a Europe firmly involved in its companies’ development.

Chief Executive Officer of Atos

Thierry Breton has been Chief Executive Officer of Atos since 2008, a leading international digital services company implanted in 72 countries which had a annual turnover of more than 11 billion euros in 2015 and 93,000 staff.

Thierry Breton was Minister for Economy, Finances and Industry in France from 2005 until 2007 and then Lecturer at Harvard Business School in 2007 and 2008. He has also been Chairman of the French Association for Research and Technology (ANRT) since 2015.
